On September 11, 2001, a horrifying event took place that forever changed the world. Two planes were flown into the iconic Twin Towers of the World Trade Center in New York City, causing immense devastation and loss of innocent lives. Amidst the tragic events of that day, a strange fact emerged – actors Mark Wahlberg and Seth McFarlane were originally scheduled to be passengers on one of the planes that struck the North Tower.

If fate hadn’t intervened, Wahlberg and McFarlane’s lives could have been tragically cut short as they were set to board American Airlines Flight 11. However, by a stroke of luck, their plans changed, and they narrowly escaped the horrific events that unfolded that fateful morning.

As the lead actor in the movie “Ted,” directed by McFarlane, Wahlberg had been invited to fly to Los Angeles with his co-star for the film’s premiere. However, Wahlberg changed his plans at the last minute and decided to charter a private plane instead. This change of itinerary saved their lives.

McFarlane, the creator of the popular animated TV show “Family Guy,” also had a fortunate twist of fate. After a heavy night of filming, he overslept and arrived at Logan International Airport in Boston just 10 minutes too late to board Flight 11.

While this fact may seem remarkable, it is essential to clarify that Wahlberg and McFarlane have never made dramatic claims about their near miss on 9/11. In a 2011 interview with Men’s Journal, Wahlberg stated he had been booked on a commercial flight but changed it at the last minute.

It is fascinating how our lives can be altered by seemingly insignificant decisions. In this case, the choice to alter their travel plans on September 11, 2001, saved the lives of two notable figures in the entertainment industry.

The events of 9/11 shook the world to its core and had lasting effects on countless individuals and their families. The fact that Wahlberg and McFarlane were originally meant to be on one of the planes adds another layer of fascination to an already tragic event.

To this day, the memory of September 11, 2001, serves as a reminder of the fragility of life and the unpredictable nature of events. It is essential to pay tribute to all those who lost their lives that day and to honor their memory.
